About Us

From Our Patients

Each year, we receive hundreds of thank you letters from our patients thanking us for the exemplary care they received while at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. These letters are important, as they validate the quality of care that we provide. We have shared excerpts of these letters below.

"This is to thank all the special people at BWMC. I had a very serious operation recently; I had a cervical fusion. I was very anxious about having this procedure done, but I need to let you know that I have never experienced such excellent, caring people in my life, before coming to your hospital.

From my very first appointment with the physician, all the nurses, assistants and admission folks, were so attentive, all the way through to my discharge. Everyone has made such a difference in my life and I appreciate all the people at your hospital."

"I recently had the experience of being hospitalized at your facility and I felt compelled to let you know about the extraordinary care I received.

From the minute I walked in the front door of the emergency room, I was met with the most kind, caring and professional people I have ever met. I did not feel like just another patient on the assembly line, rather, I felt compassion, empathy and concern. No one was too busy to talk with me or give me that extra attention to provide me with security and comfort to reduce my anxiety.

The physician assistants, physicians, nurses, attendants, technicians and everyone else I missed, were all courteous, friendly and warm. I could go on and on about the people at your hospital and their efforts to make my stay very positive.

I don't know how you have managed to get so many capable and dedicated people on your team, but that's exactly what you have achieved."

"I want to commend the staff at BWMC on the care I received as an outpatient for an urgent procedure.

The young woman in admitting got me at my weakest and gave me a hug. She gave me plenty of time and helped me navigate my way through the registration process. The physician did a thorough exam, asked what my preferences were and decided on sedation to spare me the lasting effects that could have ruined a holiday dinner with my family.

Everyone was so dedicated to me throughout the surgery. I received gentle care and more than what I ever expected. I can't thank the staff enough for such outstanding treatment. I am deelpy indebted to the BWMC staff, who got me home in time to spend the holidays with my family.

I will happily recommend your hospital to all of my family, friends and business associates."

"This was my first experience ever being admitted into a hospital and felt it was needed to take the apportunity to say that your staff at BWMC is exceptional.

I would especailly like to thank my nurse, Karen, who was kind and compassionate. She took the time to explain everything and consistently made me feel as comfortable as I possibly could.

In today's world, it really makes a difference when someone genuinely cares. Thank you again for all that you do."

"I had the misfortune yet pleasure of two recent stays at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Initially, it was thought I was having a heart attack but turned out to be a pulmonary embolism.

During both of my visits, I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, compassion and high morale of the employees at BWMC. Having served 29 years in the U.S. Air Force, I'm triggered to notice unit morale and discipline. Your team was always in high spirits and quick to respond to my needs.

I want to pass along my appreciation for the care, respect and attentiveness I received during my stay at your medical center from the staff in the Emergency Department, Transport, Laboratory, PCT's and all the nurses.

I only have one complaint; no one would sneak me any chocolate or coffee.

I hope I don't need to revisit your facility, but if needed, I will request care at BWMC."
