Blood Bank

Baltimore Washington Medical Center runs a full-service blood bank, collecting, testing and processing blood for BWMC patients.

Under the guidance of Supervisor Maria Hall and Medical Director Dr. Ferdinand C. Rodriguez, the blood bank accepts the following donations:

• Autologous – Patients donate their own blood for surgery.
  


• Allogeneic – Banked blood that stays at BWMC.
  
  

As an affiliate of the University of Maryland Medical System, BWMC also participates throughout the year in blood drives for the American Red Cross.
