Auxiliary/Volunteer Opportunities

The Baltimore Washington Medical Center Auxiliary promotes and advances the welfare of Baltimore Washington Medical Center by sponsoring many fundraising activities throughout the year, such as book sales and fashion shows, and by managing the hospital's gift shop. Auxiliary members also serve in different areas of the hospital, such as the Gift Shop, Mailroom and Business Office as well as Patient Advocates in the Emergency Room (PAINTERS), who serve as liaisons between Emergency Department (ED) staff, patients and families. They also circulate among patients in the ED and ensure that the patients and their loved ones remain informed. All money raised by the Auxiliary helps the hospital spread its service to the community.
