Neurology

Neurology is the branch of medicine that deals with the brain, central nervous system, peripherals and muscles. Neurology is also one of the busiest inpatient departments at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, treating patients with a range of illnesses and disorders, but especially strokes and seizure disorders. According to the American Stroke Association, stroke is the leading cause of disability in Maryland and in the United States as well as the third leading cause of death, claiming more than 160,000 lives each year.
