Baltimore Washington Medical Center's 12-bed pediatric unit features specialized care by a team of pediatric hospitalists (physicians who work closely with primary care physicians and the hospital to ensure consistent and comprehensive care) and nurses who are dedicated to making the hospitalization process as positive and stress-free as possible for patients and their families. The hospitalists are all board certified in pediatrics and have extensive experience in pediatric inpatient and emergency care.

Through a three-way partnership between the primary care providers of the community, and the University of Maryland Medical System, patients receive treatment based on their personal medical history and have access to the latest technological advancements. The unit is also secured and maintains special visiting hours for a parent or grandparent who wishes to stay in the hospital overnight with their child.
